Academics

At HAFTR, academic excellence and Torah values go hand in hand. Our rigorous dual curriculum in Limudei Kodesh and general studies challenges students to think critically, articulate their ideas with confidence, and discover their passions across disciplines. From advanced STEM research in our state-of-the-art Innovation Center, to seminar-style debates in the humanities, and creative exploration in the fine arts, HAFTR students are prepared not only for the nation’s leading universities, but for lives of meaning and impact. We inspire our students to become lifelong learners, guided by Torah, driven by curiosity, and empowered to lead.

Heart of the Five Towns

HAFTR stands at the center of the vibrant Five Towns Jewish community, and that location is woven into our school culture. Being at the heart of Jewish life on Long Island means our students live their education daily—through partnerships with local organizations, opportunities for community leadership, and a deep sense of belonging. From school-wide chesed initiatives that support our neighbors, to spirited community celebrations of Jewish holidays, to our active involvement in Israel advocacy, HAFTR students experience firsthand what it means to contribute to and lead a thriving Modern Orthodox community.

Religious Growth

As a Modern Orthodox yeshiva, HAFTR nurtures both the mind and the soul. Students deepen their connection to Hashem through the study of Torah, spirited tefillah, and meaningful engagement with Jewish tradition. Whether debating sugyot of Gemara, exploring the ethical dilemmas of Tanach, or singing together at a Friday kumzitz, our students experience Judaism as vibrant, relevant, and deeply personal. By the time they graduate, they leave HAFTR as proud bnei and bnot Torah—grounded in Torah values, passionate about mitzvot, and committed to Klal Yisrael and the State of Israel.
