HAFTR High School’s College and Academic Guidance Department is renowned not only for our track record of outstanding college admissions but also for the wisdom, experience and compassion of our college guidance counselors and their devotion to every individual child. Our College and Academic Guidance team provides guidance services to every student starting in ninth grade. Each freshman is assigned to one counselor, who monitors the individual student’s academic progress, guides the student in course selection, builds their individual schedule, and assists the student on Naviance, a college and career readiness software program to provide students with college planning and career assessment tools. In the junior year, each student’s guidance counselor meets with the student and their parents individually to discuss future options and plan out their college admissions process. 

The members of our College and Academic Guidance Department are highly knowledgeable about the academic offerings, campus culture and Jewish life at the tremendously wide range of prestigious private and public universities throughout the country and Israel in which our students are interested. They work closely with each student and their family throughout every step of the college search and application process, providing support and expertise to assist the individual student to successfully attain admissions to the university where they can pursue their unique aspirations.
