HAFTR is proud to honor Dani and Lori Lasky, a couple whose unwavering devotion to chesed, tzedakah, and community service reflects the very essence of our school’s values. Their lives are a model of generosity, responsibility, and quiet leadership, qualities that continue to elevate and strengthen the HAFTR community.
Dani’s steady presence has supported HAFTR in countless ways over the years. Whether advising during board meetings, assisting with facility needs at a moment’s notice, or responding to urgent situations through his volunteer work with Hatzalah, Dani shows up with humility, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility to the community he loves. His reliability and calm leadership have made a lasting impact on our yeshiva.
Lori, a proud HAFTR alumna and devoted mother to Sophie, Emma, and Jake, brings her connection to Jewish education and community full circle. With warmth and purpose, she works to ensure that her children experience the same strong, nurturing, and meaningful HAFTR foundation that shaped her own formative years. Her commitment to supporting both her family and her school community is felt every day.
Together, Dani and Lori exemplify what it means to give of oneself with generosity, with heart, and with a deep belief in the power of community.

This year, HAFTR is truly honored to recognize Nechama Landau, an educator whose dedication, warmth, and love for Torah learning have shaped generations of students. Her leadership, compassion, and steadfast commitment embody the very best of who we are as a school.
With more than two decades of service to chinuch, Nechama has become a respected and beloved presence at HAFTR. Born and raised in Montreal, she attended the Hebrew Academy of Montreal before continuing her learning at Michlalah in Israel. She later earned her degree from Stern College for Women, majoring in Political Science and Judaic Studies, and completed a Master’s in Tanach at the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, building a strong foundation of Torah scholarship that continues to guide her work.
Since joining the HAFTR faculty in 2001, Nechama has impacted students across both the Middle School and High School through her thoughtful teaching and steady leadership. As Coordinator of Jewish Studies in our Middle School, she oversees curriculum, mentors faculty, and ensures that Torah learning remains both rigorous and inspiring. In her additional role as Chesed Coordinator, she develops programs that help students cultivate empathy, responsibility, and a deep sense of communal connection.
Despite her many responsibilities, what brings Nechama the greatest joy is the time she spends with her students: teaching Chumash and Tefillah, learning together, and davening as a community. These moments, she shares, continue to uplift and inspire her each day.
Nechama is also deeply committed to her own professional growth. She completed the Lookstein Educational Leadership Program and has participated in Hidden Sparks workshops and numerous other development opportunities, enriching her work inside and outside the classroom.
Nechama’s dedication, professionalism, and genuine care reflect the very heart of Jewish education. HAFTR is privileged to honor Nechama Landau and celebrate the profound, lasting impact she has had on our students, educators, and our entire community.

For 37 years, Joan Parmet has been a steadfast and beloved presence at HAFTR High School. As Director of College and Academic Guidance, Joan has supported thousands of students on one of the most important journeys of their lives, helping them discover their paths with clarity, confidence, and care.
Throughout her decades at HAFTR, Joan has embraced many roles. She has brought history to life in AP European History, AP U.S. History, and AP Government; mentored students through countless clubs and activities; and served as an anchor of wisdom and warmth for the entire school community.
Joan often reflects on the privilege of guiding multiple generations of HAFTR families. Working with the children of her former students has been among her greatest joys. What stands out most to her, though, is the feeling of family that has defined her HAFTR experience. She wants the community to know how deeply grateful she is, and how profoundly she cherishes being part of the lives, stories, and successes of so many HAFTR students over the years.
