About HAFTR Early Childhood

Day school with Torah as the foundation of its philosophy. We provide an attractive, vibrant, dynamic Torah centered learning climate in which we promote a love of Eretz Yisrael and Am Yisrael . We foster a passion for Shabbat and Chagim and instill in our children a love of Mitzvot with particular attention focused on the Mitzvah of Bein Adam L'Chaveiro. Our children acquire knowledge of Ivrit by participating in meaningful Jewish experiences.

We believe that we are walking, talking advertisements for who we are and what we believe in as Jews and that young children learn what is appropriate by looking at us as role models and thus we conduct ourselves in a manner befitting Bnai Yisrael.

We provide a safe, orderly, caring environment that reflects work in progress, an appreciation of the social nature of learning and appropriate materials that support learning experiences.

We encourage each child to contribute and value every child’s contribution. We encourage our children to voice their interests and concerns. We nurture and support a spirit of inquiry, thoughtful questioning and critical thinking.

Our dedicated Morot establish appropriate classroom climates that support active learning, interaction and self-motivation. Our Morot consider all children in the planning and choosing of learning tasks and provide quality instruction that includes a variety of strategies and opportunities adapted to diverse learners. Our Morot promote positive teacher-child and child-child interaction in a warm and caring environment.

Our curriculum reflects a core of knowledge that is important, organized around major concepts and requires in-depth investigation. We explore and refine new and existing approaches to child learning, and stimulate school-wide inquiry, building a capacity for change.

We appreciate the talents and expertise our parents and families bring to our school. We believe that family support is an important ingredient of a successful school. We know that the more the school and the family are joined as partners in educating our children, the greater the child’s chances for success. We encourage family members to participate in recognizing and celebrating their child’s achievements. We welcome parental and familial involvement.

We are proud of our children, our staff and our parent body. We are proud of our school.
